Your first lesson

• What happens in the free trial lesson?

  The trial is a relaxed 30-minute session — not a test. We'll have a short conversation so I can hear your English, understand your goals, and get a feel for your current level. I'll share some honest feedback and we'll talk about what a regular lesson plan could look like for you.

  There's no pressure to continue, and no preparation required. Just show up and talk.

• Is the trial really free? Are there any hidden costs?

  Completely free — no card required, no obligation. The trial exists so you can decide whether my teaching style is right for you before committing to anything. If you'd like to continue after the trial, I'll share lesson options and pricing at that point.

• How do I book the free trial?

  Use the Book Now page to choose your lesson focus, share your availability, and leave your contact details. I'll be in touch within 24 hours to confirm a specific date and time.

  Lessons take place on Zoom or Google Meet — whichever you prefer. You'll receive a link before the session.
• What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

  Life happens. Just send me an email at [email protected] as soon as you know. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice where possible — it helps me offer the slot to another student.

How lessons work

• What levels do you teach?

  I teach all levels from complete beginner (A1) through to advanced (C2). Whether you're just starting out or preparing for a C1 Advanced exam, lessons are tailored to where you are right now — not a fixed syllabus.

• How long are the lessons?

  Standard lessons are 50 minutes. I also offer 90-minute sessions for students who prefer a longer, more immersive format — particularly useful for exam preparation or intensive conversation practice. The free trial is 30 minutes.

• What platform do you use?

  Lessons take place on Zoom or Google Meet — your choice. Both are free to use and work well on a phone, tablet, or computer. I'll send you the link before each session.

• Do I need to prepare anything before a lesson?

  For most lessons, no preparation is needed — I'll bring materials based on your goals and level. For exam preparation sessions, I may occasionally ask you to review a specific topic or complete a short practice task beforehand.

  A quiet space and a reliable internet connection are the main requirements. A headset or earphones help with audio quality, but aren't essential.

Choosing the right focus

• What's the difference between General English and Conversation Practice?

  General English covers all four skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — with a structured approach to grammar and vocabulary. Conversation Practice is more focused: we choose topics you care about and talk, with feedback woven in naturally. If your main goal is to feel more confident speaking, Conversation Practice is usually the better fit.

• Which exams do you prepare students for?

  I specialise in IELTS (Academic and General Training), Cambridge B2 First, and C1 Advanced. If you're preparing for a different exam, get in touch and I'll let you know whether I can help.

• Can I switch lesson focus after I've started?

  Absolutely. Your goals may change — that's normal. If you started with General English and now want to focus on Business English for a new job, we simply adjust. There's no fixed contract or minimum commitment.

Scheduling and payment

• How do I pay for lessons?

  Payment details are shared after the free trial, once you've decided to continue. I accept bank transfer and most major payment methods. Lessons are typically paid in advance on a per-lesson or block basis.

• What time zones do you teach in?

  I teach students across multiple time zones. When you book, your local timezone is detected automatically so we can find a time that works for both of us. I'm flexible with scheduling and offer morning, afternoon, and evening slots.

• How often should I have lessons?

  Most students make strong progress with one or two lessons per week. For exam preparation with a fixed deadline, two or three sessions per week is often more effective.

  We'll discuss what's realistic for your schedule during the trial lesson and I'll give you an honest recommendation.
